My Favorite Fall Scenes

There is no more beautiful time of the year than fall,
when the world comes alive with
the warmest colors of the rainbow.

Halloween Decor

I can't believe it's already October and
decorative Halloween treats are everywhere.

I found this little wooden jack-o-lantern
cozied up with a fall quilt in
Independence, Oregon
at the Ladies of Liberty quilt shop.

One of my most talented friends
has these little guys hanging in her living room.
Going to her house this time of year is
a Halloween treat.

This little kitty came from
Rare Earth Decor in Ridgefield, Washington.
He was the last one of his kind,
but I have no doubt that he has other
equally cute friends that were left behind.

Harvest

Now that fall is officially here, it will soon be time for the annual trip
to the Columbia River Gorge and the tour of fruit stands
in the shadows of Mt. Hood.
The smell of dozens of varieties of peaches and pears
adds another 'flavor' to fall.

Autumn Note Cards

This week's cards come from past photographs.
Fall is my favorite season.
The warmth of the colors and the cool crisp air are something I look forward to every year.
I pack my camera and go in search of the comfortable images of autumn.
I can't get enough.
I hope you enjoy these softened paint filtered photographs.
Feel free to click on the photos for a closer look at the brush strokes.
The original photographs without any enhancement are also available for purchase.

Getting started

If you've stumbled on my new blog this evening, please come back again. Tonight, I'm setting it up, but tomorrow, I'll begin posting pictures of blank note cards for sale. I text a lot, I email on occasion, and I view blogs, but nothing is as sweet as a handwritten message. I hope the electronic world we live in doesn't bring about the complete demise of personal notes. It's my hope that these cards will inspire you to drop a note to a special friend, a member of your extended family, or just someone who needs a smile or to feel loved today.
I'll begin with fall and Halloween cards. Last Friday I took a daytrip to the coast and stopped by Country Crafters in Astoria, Oregon on 10th Street. Julie was kind enough to let me take a few pictures of some darling gourds she has for sale. I brought my pictures home and went to work. There's still a little tweeking that needs to be done, but I'm loving them and I hope you do too.
Each Friday, I hope to visit a local antique, gift, or quilt shop and obtain permission to photograph some of their beautiful displays and then turn them into note cards to be posted each Monday.
Please feel free to leave comments or contact me by email.
